Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

½ cup water

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough

½ cup salsa

1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, jalapeños

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.

Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet, mixing well. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles, making sure to keep the perforations intact.

Place a generous tablespoon of the taco meat mixture on the wide end of each crescent triangle. Top with shredded cheese and a small spoonful of salsa.

Roll the dough around the filling, starting from the wider end, and pinching the ends to seal tightly.

In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the tops of the rolled sticks with the egg wash for a golden finish.

Place the taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve with extra salsa, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and jalapeños if desired.
