Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a small cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant and golden (be careful not to burn it).

Make the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Allow to simmer for about 3-5 minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.

Add Cheese and Seasoning: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing it gently in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.

Finishing Touches: Mix in the lemon zest for brightness. Give it one last toss to combine everything evenly.

Serve: Plate the pasta, garnishing with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired. Enjoy your creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta!
