Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1/4 cup orange juice

2 tablespoons tequila (optional)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons honey

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Skewers (bamboo or metal)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine lime juice, orange juice, tequila (if using), olive oil, honey, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk well until thoroughly mixed.

Marinate the Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade, making sure they're well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, but ideally for 1-2 hours for maximum flavor.

Soak Skewers (if using bamboo): If you’re using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill.

Assemble the Kabobs: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, about 4-5 shrimp per skewer, making sure they are closely packed together but not overlapping.

Grill the Shrimp: Place the skewers on the preheated grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook; shrimp cook very quickly!

Serve: Remove the kabobs from the grill and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side for added zest.

Enjoy: Serve these tantalizing kabobs as an appetizer or alongside rice or a fresh salad for a light meal.
