Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably lean)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)

1 cup broccoli florets (steamed or sautéed)

2 cups cooked jasmine rice (or rice of choice)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Optional: sliced cucumbers and kimchi for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes until the sugar is dissolved and all ingredients are well combined. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease if necessary.

Combine & Simmer: Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef in the skillet. Stir well to coat all the beef with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Stir in the chopped green onions and continue cooking for 1 more minute.

Serve the Bowl: In a serving bowl, place a generous scoop of cooked jasmine rice, followed by a substantial helping of the spicy ground beef mixture. Top with steamed or sautéed broccoli.

Garnish: Sprinkle sesame seeds and the remaining green onions over the top. For an extra kick, add sliced cucumbers and a side of kimchi, if desired.

Enjoy: Serve immediately, mixing the components for a delightful, flavorful experience!
