Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

Olive oil, for cooking

Burger buns

Toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, and additional cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Spinach: In a medium skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped spinach and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, sautéed spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Burgers: In a skillet or on a grill over medium-high heat, add a bit of olive oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and are nicely browned.

Assemble the Burgers: Place each burger patty on a burger bun. Add desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato slices, and additional cheddar cheese.

Serve: Enjoy your White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers hot and fresh!
